Pleistocene Megafauna Exhibit
This exhibit, located in the Museum of Anthropology at Rowan University, intends to explain what caused the extinction of the Pleistocene Megafauna and its connection to humans. Each panel above the cases is constructed using cardboard, kraft paper, acrylic paint, and charcoal. The inclusion of the cave drawings links the Megafauna to humans and historical representations of animals; this was inspired by Werner Herzog's Cave of Dreams, referencing Chauvet Cave and its art. The color scheme, as well, references the icy cold climate contrasted with the rough textured and warm-colored cave walls wherein animals and people alike would take refuge.
See the captions below for further details on the design.
